Friday, 2 – 4 pm, Table Talk: “The Fascinating World of Fungi." Location: First Church Congregational, 40 Monument Avenue, First Floor, Room 1, Swampscott

Have you ever wondered why Otzi the Iceman was carrying two mushrooms when he died trying to cross the Alps near the Austrian-Italian border 5,5300 years ago? Or why you only see those cute red mushrooms with white polka dots in children’s books but never walking in the woods in New England? Or maybe you have wondered whether those white toadstools that appear on your grass after a rain are good to eat. Come and learn the answers to these questions and many more and explore the fascinating world of fungi from 2-4 PM on July 26,  August 30, September 27, and October 25, 2024.  Come to one or a few or all of presentations as you wish.  No need to sign up for all.  The presentations will be by Jura Strimaitis, a longtime member of the Boston Mycological Club and an avid mushroomer.

Hope you can join us! FREE. Open to Seaglass members, volunteers, and guests. Light refreshments will be served. NOTE: If you plan to attend, please enter the church at the back door to the left of the playground or the front door.  If the door is locked, use the doorbell and someone will let you in.
